From this day forward you are banned from using the phrase "it's hard" or "that's a lot of work.
Yes, being a full-time parent, taking care of your home and family, and running a business (most of the time a one man/woman show) is overwhelming. It may, in fact, be stressful or tiresome, and most definitely a lot of work, but we are built from affirmations and hard work. It is doable.
Building a legacy for you, your family, and generations to come requires a lot of oneself.
But, its not impossible...
This is not an unfamiliar battle with entrepreneurs. It is actually quite common. Her are some tips to balancing your family life and building your legacy simultaneously.
First and foremost, you need to maintain your mental strength
Who are you doing this for and why? Yes, you are trying to build this legacy for them, but they need you as their person as well. What areas do they need you in? Financially? Yes, you are providing for them by going to work and running your business everyday. But what about all other areas? Balance is key. Understand that they need you in more ways than one. that to push you to leave the office and go home for the night.
Try to find a mental outlet. Create a space where you are just to focus on you and clearing you head. Mental health is far more important than all else. Understand that your mental health comes first. This place of peace includes you, you , and most importantly... you.
Tips:
1. Remember to eat. Meal prepping at the beginning of the week goes a long way. Just grab it and go.
2. Meditate. Take time out of your day and find a quiet area and focus on your breathing. Clear your mind and focus solely on your breathing. Your mind may wander, but in time you will get better. Start with just doing it for 5 minutes and gradually increase your time day by day.
3. Have conversations with yourself. I know this sounds crazy but hear me out. Self talk is the best talk. Motivate yourself. Talk yourself into rising above weapons that are trying to form against you. Talk to yourself about your game plan of the day. Remind your self that you are in control and this work will not consume you.
You are your business...but sometimes you need to separate yourself If you are working from home, make a dedicated area your work space. I understand that you may feel like you work is never done, but sometimes its going to have to be done that night. If you work from the office, leave work at the office sometimes. When you get home, that is where peace and a clear mind sets in. The work will be waiting for you when you return in the morning....I promise.
Use your family as a driving force
